Here are some back in the day photos of my Rammer. Bought by my dad new in 1979. Does anyone recall the stripe package? Basic 318/727/203 with 3.21 gears.

I swapped in a 400 4bbl and 1 ton springs back in the early 90's during my High School days.

She is pretty rough now with a lot of rust and a bad tranny. I parked it at our farm over 10 years ago. Deciding if I should try fixing it or just get another one and paint it up like this one.

Well, kinda hard to see through the grass but looks ok to me :D If you can post some pics of the interior, body, etc and maybe we can help. You can't beat the fact that it has lots of memories and that your dad bought it new so that is something to think about. I don't know about the stripe package so maybe some of the other members can shed some light on it? What is the car next to it in the grass?

Sad thing is it only has around 50K miles on it. There are a lot of memories like going up to Canada fishing with dad in 1981 and then moving to Florida in the late 80's. Of course it became rather famous back in High School after a few unintentional off road adventures. I had it airborne a few times as well. :D

It really is more a case of how much work do I want to do. I have a rust free but dented up pop top tub I could swap. It needs a quarter replaced. I have fenders and doors so that wouldn't be a problem. The plan would be a 440 or fuel injected 360 with a A518 overdrive and 4.10 Dana 60's. I have all the parts to do it. I would need to get an Ultrabell for the trans to put the 440 in though.

The car is what is left of a rare '69 Mod Top Satellite. Bought it a few years ago for $200 to use as parts for my '69 Charger R/T 440 4 speed. Body, frame, roof, floors are all gone, gone. It was so bad the rear end fell out when I pulled it from the field. It had a lot of good little parts that I used though to save the Charger.

I would think that you should fix up the old girl. After looking at your Charger i don't see whats stopping. You have had the truck this long.

The picture was at Monster Mopar. I wish I would have seen that Ramcharger on Craigslist or it would have probably been at my house now.

There was one just on Craigslist like mine that was rotted up pretty good recently.

It is more a time issue now that I have a kid to get mine fixed up more than anything. Bringing it to my 20 year class reunion would be sweet though. :o

It was a mod top :o Super rare but not so attractive or macho  Well if I was you I would go for the resto and preserve a piece of family history. I also have a 69 charger that I am restoring and your gives me motivation to finish mine!
