Just picked up a nice solid 2WD ram charger out of Texas for $1100.00 and it should be here this weekend. Cant wait to see it and see how solid it is. The guy I bought it off has owned it for the last 22 years. He said it is rust free with all original sheet metal. I decided to pick this up as my whole family can fit in it plus the 2wd pop tops are incredibly hard to find in decent shape. I use to have a really nice original paint 79 2wd ram charger and I kick my self in the butt ever since as I haven't been able to find another one.
Any ways this one currently has the motor out of it and I've decided to use a 2002 5.9 magnum motor in it. I currently picked it up a salvage yard with low miles on it and then dropped it off at my engine rebuilder. Were sending out the factory cam and having it reground for more power. I'm also take off all the fuel injection stuff and picking up a set of Engine Quest heads for it and Eddy air gap intake and 650 Holley for it and a set of nice headers. Should be a fun little driver after we get done with it.
I'm going to take the tub off so I can clean up the frame. I also plan on painting it up like a 80 macho ram charger and instead of 4wd 4wd decals on the back tailgate I'll have it 2wd 2wd on the back of it. It'll be painted the yellow and black just like with the wide orange decal along the bottom. I'll take the hood and grill off my 80 and use it on this one. I'll install black wagon wheels with some bfg radials on it. Probably 276/60/15's on the back and maybe 235's on the front. I'll also use the plaid black and white interior in it with the newer style door panels and 80 sport steering wheel. The cool part about using the rear seat out of the 80 is that it folds up. I also want to pick up a power window set up for it out of 80's style dodge. I'm currently going to keep the auto in it as it's the easier route right now but I eventually want to install 833 OD unit in it.

Here's what the decal will look like but it will say 2wd 2wd instead of 4wd 4wd.

I know it really is one of my favorite ramchargers that I've ever had but it's just really really rusty. I would kill to find a survivor one of those identical to it. I even thought about using the body from this truck for it but I cant get my self to do that to a rare 2wd pop top.

I sold it to my buddy a while back. He went to Carlisle with us in it and Mopar Collectors Guide did a photo shoot on it. I actually was his best man at his wedding I ended up driving him and his wife home in the Top Hand after the wedding got over. He's the one that owned the other 400 big block Top Hand ram charger. He's also know as Warlock Wally in Collectors guide if you read that(lol). He's got an unbelievable survivor warlock, it's one of the nicest that I've ever seen. I actually had to look the truck over for along time as it looked to nice to be original paint and decals.
