I had a guy in my business today who told me about an old man here in town who has "one of those early fifties Dodge trucks."  He said the truck was used by a rural fire department and the old fellow wants to sell it. I'll try to get by there this weekend and have a look. If nothing else, maybe I can get a few good photographs of it to post here... |

Rats! I put my four year old son into the 65 4-4-2 convertible late this evening and off we went with camera and cash. It was way down in the country and then down a dirt road. I'd called earlier and his wife said to "come on by anytime!" The old fellow came out and told me I should have gotten there a month earlier. He crushed everything in his field which numbered in the hundreds of cars and trucks! He said after fifty years in the used parts business he was ready to retire. I asked him if he had crushed any Dodge Power Wagons. He scratched his chin and said "I think I had four or five of 'em... mostly from the fifties... " *Dapper Dan places noose around neck and steps off stool* Oh well... At least he held on and sold everything at the height of metal prices...
