These gained a strong reputation working hard on REAs , pipeline projects or
construction from Chevy or Ford affectionados. They were manufactured 1946-????

I' ve owned this 47 since 1977 or so, found it about 20 miles from home.
I fell in love with these more than 50 years ago. My dad sold Dodges, my Uncle Lawrence traded for 3 POWER WAGONS from 250 miles west of here in ND.
I would go with my dad to the car lot after supper. When I saw the POWER WAGONS I sat in those things pulled the gear shift lever, wiggled the steering wheel, WOW I was in heaven.

My boys always called this 47 the electricity truck & rightly so because an electric coop owned it previously. It was up for bids I bid considerably higher than the local emoployees.
Here's a story from well,1958. My dad took a new Dodge C700 down to Mpls truck center to have the rear end changed in a truck. My sister & I got to ride along. There on the show room floor was a new red POWER WAGON. I wondered what the new owner thought of my fingerprints all over that beauty

If you kook closely @ the grille shell on the top pic of the restored POWER WAGON
you will notice the grille juts out a little. That is because the newer POWER WAGON used a 251 flat head 6 vs the 231. Apparently it was a longer block.
