This is the truck dad bought new in 1976 and the truck that started my obsession. I rode home from the dealer in this truck with dad the day he bought it, I was 5 yrs old. Took lots of camping vacation trips, hunting & fishing, firewood hauling, fill dirt hauling, lumber hauling, etc. It got worked! This truck hauled 2000 lbs of weight many times in it's life without missing a beat. When I was 18 dad signed the title over to me and I dated my wife in the truck while I was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego. My wife said she never expected to meet a South Dakota country boy driving an old Dodge truck where she lived (Santee, Ca.). Unfortunately I traded the truck in on a Chevy car just before we were married, and I regretted it ever since. There's no way I could ever find that truck now and it's probably been made into razor blades and soup cans many times over by now.

Here are the only three pics I have of it:

do you have a VIN number, I may be able to track it for you....or maybe a license plate number from CA.
cool truck, that color combo is not common, but I have seen one like it before...

Man I wish I did have something with the VIN on it for that truck. It was registered in South Dakota and when I traded it in the dealer said it had to go to auction somewhere else. It was not legal to register it in Ca. due to not being up to Ca. emission standards. I still have a license plate from it but not the ones which it wore at the time I traded it. If by chance, I do turn up something, I'll let you know.
