I know Legendary Auto Interiors carries those seat covers, $300+ and there's a company somewhere in the Pacific NW coast that carries them also, can't remember who they were called. They are the seats found in the warlocks and red express trucks when you do the search.

You can also buy those seat covers at http://www.dodgeconnection.com/page/page/2822668.htm.. He sells the legendary Interiors..

Wow! Great heads up! I didn't know that these guys sold those seat covers so I will have to get a set. I also saw some other items that I needed as well.

This weekend I really lucked out and the local junk yard had 2 77 trucks and 1 76 truck all of which gave up parts. I got a rust free pass. fender, good bumper, 77 clear turn signals, rust free hood, lower valence piece, grill mounting hardware, 78 standard style door panels all for $200. Not bad for one afternoon at the yard. My question is this- the doorpanels I got where originally white, what is the best plastic dye? I want to dye them and not have it flake off so I want something permanent. What do you guys use? I need a plastic dye for the door panels and need a vinyl dye for the sun visors.

Nice looking 'wagon. To make the white vinyl look proper in black, clean with soap & water with a toothbrush, use a good vinyl prep(S.E.M. if I remember correct), then Bulldog adhesion promoter, followed by S.E.M. trim black. Nothing mimics black vinyl better. If you prep as stated above, you won't have a bit of flaking. Don't forget, I'm also a Legendary dealer. Send me a pm for pricing.

I will send you that PM next summer! I need to do some other stuff to the truck before I recover the seats but they will get it next summer when I repaint it! Thanks for the tip on the vinyl, is the bulldog product sold in local auto parts stores or is it internet only?

I have decided to turn this thread into a build thread as well as an info thread for others! I will post up some pics and part numbers of some upcoming projects here within the next few days. Keep an eye out!

Ever since I bought the truck there has been a coolant leak coming down through the tranny bell housing and onto the ground. I figured before I make this a daily driver I should pull the motor and put new gaskets on it. So on Saturday I will begin the motor pull and will provide some pics as well! I figure it is a freeze plug that rusted through but we shall see. Hopefully not a cracked block or head  I will paint it and put a Edelbrock RPM air gap manifold on it as well as 4 barrel carb as well. I will also put on a new water pump, belts and hoses and will most likely clean up the frame rails too. Also I will be putting on a new drag link on the steering and new brake hoses and master cylinder ;) A few weeks ago I put on new rotors, hubs and bearings and calipers so I will post some pics of that and also include part numbers in case anybody else needs the numbers.

So I am nearly done with removing the motor and it will be out tomorow. In the mean time I wanted to post some pics of the new rotors/ hubs and calipers that I did a few weeks back. I will also include part numbers where I have them so you guys can reference them if needed. All the parts where purchased from Raybestos, Napa, or Les Schwab tire centers. For those of you not from the Northwest, Les Schwab is the west's largest independent tire center who also does tons of suspension and brake work. I work for them so it was nice to have all the part numbers in our books! The hubs are for a 1/2 ton so if you have anything bigger they will not work. The order of parts goes:

hub/ rotor and wheel studs x2- Raybestos part #76298R (don't try to get rotors from your local napa, they only have 2wd versions :D )

inner bearing seal x2 - #26153

bearings x2 - #PBR25 (they press onto the hub so you need a press to put them on. there is 2 bearings plus a spacer per box so you need 2 boxes to do both sides)
Calipers x1 each- #RC4120 and RC1119. These where bought from Schwab as well

To get the hub and rotor assembly off the truck remove the cotter pin and axle nut and then put your socket through the hole in the face of the rotor and turn it until you find all 6 bolts in behind. The bolts look like a reverse torxs as they do not look like regular bolts but your standard sockets work on then. To remove the dust shields remove the 3 standard bolts in the same manner as the hub and everything comes apart. I also painted and straightened the dust shields and painted them while I was in there. Hope you guys enjoy!

So today I got the motor out! I was pumped and found that the cause of my leak was the rusty left rear freeze plug just like I thought. It has a tiny pin hole in it and will be getting replaced along with the rest of the gaskets as well. In the deal with the truck I also got an Edelbrock RPM air gap itake manifold. Now since my truck was a 2 barrel to begin with and since I am switching to a 4 barrel what all is needed to do the swap correctly? I would imagine I will need the 4 barrel bracket that mounts to the intake but is there anything else?

While the motor is out I plan on installing some new parts I have in the engine bay as well as cleaning up the front suspension and frame rails. What color should I paint them? Should I go with a chassis black or go with a steel color if they where never painted from the factory?

In the meantime here is a couple of pics of the empty engine bay and of the pile of dirt and grease I have cleaned up so far :D

Last question- how do I make my images smaller so they fit the page like everyone elses?
