Some of you registered here within the last month and until yesterday, didn't hear back from me about confirmation for days and in some cases weeks. I sincerely apologise to you for this.

Normally when there is a new registration, the board promptly sends me an email notifying me so I can get that member confirmed as soon as possible. For whatever reason I don't understand, Gmail started recognising these emails from the forum as "spam" and filed them away in the spam filter. I just didn't catch that this was going on. I thought we just had a dry run of new members wanting to register.

At any rate, I've found and have remedied the situation. Again, those of you who had to wait so long for confirmation, please accept my humblest apology for the wait.

Regards,

Dapper

I've tracked this down and yet again... gmail was sending these messages to my spam box. This is twice now that it's happened. I would have thought after telling gmail these weren't spam messages the first time it would make that rule and send them on through but it didn't. Thing is, you cannot turn off the spam filter in gmail (which otherwise is very good) but I did find what appears to be a work-around. Hopefully this will solve the problem. Again... my apologies.

Just a word on the situation concerning the delay in new registrants: I've found a tool that allows me to check new registrants Internet addresses to see if they are already guilty of multiple spamming of forums so I can ban them before they are even registered. For whatever reason, traffic has really picked up on this issue. As a for instance, just last night I had over twenty new registrants awaiting approval. All were proven spammers except two who unfortunately had to wait to get confirmed. Again, sorry for the long delays on getting legitimate registrants confirmed but I guess that's the price to pay for keeping a board free of 15 viagra threads and links and pictures from multiple porn sites.
