Why does it seem to me that Dodge trucks get a bad rap. i talked to
a few people and they seem to say that dodge trucks are problematic.
I would likt to know your thoughts and or opinions.

Thanks.

I've noticed the same thing. I was always a Chevy truck man... (because Oldsmobile didn't make one), and of course, trucks are discussed a lot in the South. When I decided to purchase a new 2005 Hemi Ram, a friend of mine told be I should be aware that Dodge trucks are notorious for electrical problems. I owned that 2005 RAM for about three years and never had any problems with it whatsoever. My 1991 Ram 1500 has a broken speedometer, radio and interior light, but those sorts of problems can be expected with any 18 year old vehicle!

I never was a Ford man but drove Chevy trucks a long time. I'll say I never experienced any more trouble with Dodge trucks than with Chevrolet. If anything, the troubles I've had with Dodge trucks are less than with Chevrolet. I know of course that everyone's experience can be different.

The first Dodge.......... Mopar I owned was problematic, but, that's only because the previous owner didn't have a clue as to what he was doing. Too much of that funny green stuff............ My second, a '93 Dakota was under-powered with that little 4 banger, but dangerously light in the back. I did almost a 360 on the front wheels, to avoid hitting a dog, and getting blood on my new truck.

Hi hemipower and welcome to the forum! We have a 4 banger in our 2006 Dodge Caravan. I've been perfectly delighted with its performance. Even at high speeds on the Interstate, it cruises right along without incident. 360's are scary! I did one once in a 1980 Olds Eighty-Eight and didn't get a scratch. Going to fast and stopping to fast of course. Age might have played a role too.
