Hi guys, New to your site, looking for some info on a macho I just bought. It's a 78 360 stick truck. The first paint code is 3441. I have looked at some charts and haven't found this code. Any info? also, not familiar with the 5 position 4x4 lever. haven't driven it yet except onto the trailer, and off again.

PY3441 (Canyon Red Sunfire Metallic)
the 5 position lever is the NP203 full -time transfer case, and is common to the big 3 in the late 70's.....
it sounds like you have the brother truck to the 78 I have, mine is also 3441 Canyon Red Sunfire, 360 4spd, tach, volt vac, buckets and radio delete.

Thanks for the info. As I get into it more, I will have more questions for sure. I have to put an axle seal in it and also need to to do some work on the leaky steering box, but other than that it looks pretty good so far. Not sure why they painted it the wrong color myself????? but the work is good and I think it'll stay this color for a while. have you guys been watching this for a while?

yeah, welcome to the site.
We watched that particular truck go through a couple of times on ebay and wondered what would come of it. The seller appears to also be a recent member of MPW...does it also have a purple tint in person...your bought what looks to be a nice truck...

It actually does not have the purple tint in person. Everyone that has looked at it since I got it back here has called it maroon. the body work looks excellent. I will take some better pics once I get into working on it. I have a couple vehicles ahead of it right now. It really doesn't need much. The steering box is leaking, and it appears to have a bad axle seal on the passenger side. Also a large dent in the oil pan but not leaking. looking for 3 33 12.5 15 BFG all terrains if anyone has any.
