Hickey bar?

I wonder if that pic has been rotated.

I think the rear supports of that bar mount on the flat top part of the wheel well

not the front slope.

??

Does the bar have an emblem in the top center facing

back with an HE in it?

Well not much has happened concerning the truck lately i had to buy a sensible commuting car first but now that thats all out of the way its time to start putting money towards the macho haha i was wondering on your guys' opinions, i want to rebuild the 360 that came with the truck but at the same time i've been hearing a small voice in my head telling me to get a big block tranny and hook up the old 400 i have but still i found a build sheet or option sheet of some sort and its a california truck so its the 4bbl 360 with cali emissions stuff i have a few pictures of that sheet if you guys wanna see it. so any way, what do you think, rebuild the 360 or hook up the 400?

that is cool.....makes sense to set it up the way you want it, as your going to keep it....if it were to be sold, probably worth more stock

Well finally got the macho back to my house luckily right before the snow season. So its sitting in my yard now, here in the next weeks i gotta get my engine stand back and start the tear down/rebuild. should give me lots to do over the long winter :) I checked that roll bar and i didnt find any emblems on it so i guess the mystery of the roll bar lives on haha

Well I just bought an 88 Dodge with a 318, figured I'd get better gas milage this way. So on monday I start to pull the new motor, it only has 56,000 miles on it. But the truck is pretty bad..prolly just gonna get scrapped after I take all the parts out of it that I want. Eventually I'll rebuild the original 360 but right now I'm just lacking the resources to get it done right.

I do have one question though, the 318 seems to have really low oil pressure, and gets really low as I start to brake and the oil pressure light comes on at about 30MPH and oil pressure just steadily decreases but the engine doesn't seem to be effected by it... like no change in idle or anything? just a bad gauge or..?

Hopefully it all pans out alright and soon the Macho will be back on the road :D

So the dash originally came with a warning light?

and it has a gauge that has been added that you are

watching?

Well thats the thing, it looks like an OE gauge, its in the same style as all the others. but it has a warning light that comes on as I stop and then the gauge starts to drop slowly but consistently
