I luckily have a few other map lights/brackets on hand so I'll get the lights mounted tomorrow. Is it hard to find the digital chronometers? I can't say I've ever seen any at the yard?

Good deal! I'll definitely have to keep my eyes open then!

Made a little progress on the truck today -- got the oil changed, pulled the mat out of the bed and cleaned the floor/mat really well. I'm happy to report that there were no surprises hiding under the mat! Also gave the body, underside, and engine bay a quick wash as well as fix 2 vacuum leaks.

I looked at the exhaust situation -- the diagrams in the '81 repair manual are a little confusing. Where are the hangers located (I only have the front muffler hanger)? Is there supposed to be a hanger between the y-pipe and cat or one for the cat?

I see the upper shield for the cat -- is there a lower shield?

Lastly, the truck has front muffler bracket -- is the rear muffler hanger bolted to the bed cross member or is there another bracket I'm missing?

Well, slowly but surely. The yard got another '82 with cashmere interior in, although most of the interior parts are trashed it did have a decent original painted style grille -- and for $5 I couldn't complain. I also installed some brand new headlamps while I was at it.
