Thanks! Took the Macho for a nice 54 mile drive this evening and it didn't skip a beat! It definitely doesn't feel nearly as doggy off the line now with the re-jetted carburetor!

When I take the instrument panel apart again I'll straighten out the Chronometer as I noticed it was a little crooked -- although it's somewhat trial and error.

Quick question -- did front bumpers change from '80 to '81?

The parts book shows 3492 480 for a painted front bumper for '78-'80 versus 3492 478 for '81.

I found a NOS painted bumper listed for '72-'80 but I reckon it's not worth my time if it's not correct...thoughts? :?:

the 81 bumpers are the SAME as the 72-80 bumpers. They changed the front one in 82.....the rear one stayed the same on a non-step thru 85 IIRC....also the same rear for a ramcharger.....

Thank you! That's what I thought, but I appreciate the confirmation. I know the bumpers changed a year or two later, however I didn't think Dodge would have done a year (or two) only specific bumper.

Well I was tired of the ratty door seals so I picked some up from Rock Auto -- paid for ground shipping but since they came out of Denver they arrived in less than 24 hours. I've used Precision in the past, but these were Fairchild which seem to be of decent quality -- even came with a little plug to hold the two ends together where they meet.

Congrats on the white whale !!!
I've dreamt about one for years and glad to see one, and even gladder you're going to return it to stock.
Someday I'll atleast clone an 81, and this is definately motivating me.
Keep up the good work and take a ton of pictures !

Thank you sir! They're definitely rare birds and to find one so close to me was just plain dumb luck! I can't wait until the truck looks the part once again...but in time!

Nothing new nor exciting to report, however I did pull this from a fresh '81 RC Custom at the yard (nice Cashmere interior) -- with split vinyl front bench.

It was raining/windy/cold so I'll snag the antenna next weekend.

Picked up a good, used painted front bumper off an '81 at one of the new yards I've been frequenting. I was thinking about blasting it then having it powder coated. So is there a proper color to match PZ4001 or just satin black?

I'll be saving the NOS bumper for when the truck is restored.
