Updates to this truck. Horse traded a Motorhome for some body work. Truck is out getting rear patches put in, mainly just the lip. Got NOS inner fenders and repop fenders for it. Painted them up in body color. Now just waiting for body man to put this all together and get it paint ready. Then, I have some time to kill. Getting a heated shop this summer, fixing up an old 40x60 quonset. So with my busy summers I can just skip working on it until next winter and take my time to get it painted. Really excited, can hardly contain myself. Then I go to a car show and oogle over a Midnight Express. Ugh, the envy. So anyways, this one is making progress!!! Still have NOT given up on my red 77 Macho.

I got a lot of crap from friends for painting these parts body color. Their Chevy's insides are black. I told em this ain't a pukin' Chevy and if I'm not at least trying to do it right, why do it? Mind you, this is my very first project like this. I've never done body work or painted before. But I'm loving it! It's such an awesome challenge. It won't be perfect, but I'm gonna do the best I can. I can paint it like 6 times for the price someone would charge me to paint it. Should be able to get it right eventually. At least I'm a good mechanic, lol.

Painting isn't too hard, just take your time and get the prep as good as you can. The better the prep work the better the topcoat looks. Looking great so far! Keep up the good work.

OK. So to update this truck. It is on its way to being totally disassembled. Front clip is off. Cab is off and totally disassembled getting media blasted this week. Tore the doors down to the bare shell so they could be blasted first to make sure their condition was good. Surface rust was trying to happen, little brown pinhead sized rust pimples all over. Last summer I got the A/C working. It held charge for 2 summers, should be good. Tomorrow I'm taking the buddy seat to an upholstery shop to get that part redone. Transmission is at the shop getting rebuilt with shift kit and a 2500 stall converter. Transfer case is getting a NOS chain the tranny guy had laying under his bench...lol. Good find I guess since they quit making this chain. Engine.....Not sure how or what I'm gonna go with this yet, I want a solid 9.5:1 compression with a stout cam. I'm currently lacking the funds for the engine build. Kinda pisses me off.

On a 2nd note. How do people feel if I painted this thing sublime green or sassy grass green or something like that instead of the yellow. Same graphics and black and all that. I honestly hate yellow....but on a side note I really do like keeping things original.

I'm really getting excited. Finally seeing some real progress. Been working in my new 40x60 heated shop. Totally kicks ass. Still needs alot of work including a work bench and a lift. I'll get some pictures up on here soon.
