So anyways. Factory A/C is all there, but compressor wire is like gone. I'm gonna have to find a way to figure out where that comes from so I can run another. Blower motor only runs on one speed no matter where I put the switch. Radio was long gone when I got it. I put NOS rubber floor in it with new door sill plates. Motor received new cam, lifters, intake, and 750 holley. That solved several things, 6 mpg and power that mimmicked a 225 slant 6. Now it gets 12 if I drive 65 and down, 4's kick in at about 67 and it gets rediculous mileage then. Found NOS radiator, old one was leaking everywhere with 4 lbs cap. Tires are 29" so its screams down the road pretty good with the 3.55's. As you can tell body wise, the fenders are shot, someone beat them with a hammer to fit big tires at some point in time. Rears have a little rust forming so I'm gonna put patches in. Primed and painted the frame this summer. NOS taillight housings. Floor has one small hole under accelerator, gonna patch with piece from another cab. Nothing lines up on this truck. I don't know if it was crashed bad at one time or what, but the box don't line up with the cab and the fenders and hood don't line up worth a crap. Paint tag that makes it a macho is in center console. I got this story when I bought it. Guy said he bought the truck with about 76,000 miles and a piston had a hole in it. I think it sat since about 84 or 85 after he sold it to his father and the father is the one who fixed the motor and I think it sat in his garage with the 76,000 miles until his death and the son got it back. He claimed he rebuilt entire engine, I didn't believe him. Tore the motor down and verified that he did replace cam, rings, bearings, and redid the heads. Oil pressure is at like 65-70, pretty good for a 440. Put new 2.5" pipes with some nice tips at a 45 out the rear side, it's frickin loud. So yeah, that's my truck. It has 81,000 on it now. Runs totally tits, I love it. Need to get the body done and I'm gonna lift it 4 inches and run either 33's or 35's on it. I haven't givin up on the other Macho I have. I just had to jump on the 440 truck with the factory A/C. I'd like to get that working somehow too, gonna need some tips on what route to go with making that work. Gimme some feedback.
