I've got a 76 w200 on 38" michelin X tires, I just installed a new steering damper as the old one was leaking, but it still steers like there's a crazy broad under the hood undermining my every turn..any ideas where to start? I have play in the steering wheel and it kind of just takes it own route when going around a corner.
Thanks

if you have alot of steering wheel play it could be your joint , i know i had an 86 dodge and i had to change the steering column on it cause it would wonder everywhere, i even got pulled over as a drunk driver one day for it.

Location: The "PALOMINO Ranch", Central California.
sounds like worn steering components or poor tires...
hope it isn't a broken frame by the gear box...

I can't see it being the tires but I will def try changing out the steering column, maybe get the steering box refurbished with Red-Head out of Seattle too.
Thanks!
