horace....did they do cashmere tan as an available common color for the macho's, there is a 77 that was found with the code for cashmere tan and coded as a macho....

No, I do not recall cashmere however wasn't the ever evasive 81 pictured in the brochure cashmere? The idea of course was high impast colors & colors which would stand out against the stripes. What a great package back in the day some folks wanted a sharp looking truck W/O chrome falling off.

I was wondering, because the info is scarce for the 77 and 78 trucks for what color that they came in. Also, the cashmere truck in question has a T.O.N. ending in "02"

The 81 scheme was tastefully done as well but, let's see those were the Farm Crisis years & 20% interest if, if you could borrow. Maybe the Macho had run it's course maybe it was cruelly killed by the dollar. We had some guys from the farming community that bought the Macho. Classy truck w/o chrome which in those days was easily knocked off. 80-81 were poor years in pickup sales at least in MN's breadbelt.
Just think a Macho for all it's grandeour never used it's name on the truck. Similar to the 60 Dodge Dart which didn't use the name on the car except for a few very few which had Dart on the glove box. Fancy that!!
