I would love to come up with some really cool "I found this in a barn" story and it's super rare...but the reality isn't quite so dramatic. How about a "found in my backyard" story instead..

I have had this truck for a while now but as yet hadn't been able to post any pics...It is a standard '76 Powerwagon and was originally a 2-tone blue & white when I bought it. 318/727 NP203 and worn out bench seat to boot.I have since switched to bucket interior,Tuff Wheel II,some minor engine spruce up's and of course the hybrid '77-'79 Macho paint scheme.No...it's not original or even a good ripoff but trust me...it looks a LOT better than what I started with.. :D

The roll bar and push bar are a junkyard find from a mid 70's Ford and I have swapped out the '76 grill for the '77-'78 style. All of the lettering and hood callout was stenciled out and rattle canned using my high tech masking tape approach...All of the black was sprayed in Satin but appears gloss in the pics.(rainy day  ).

Just thought I would share for anyone who may have wondered what an almost Petty Blue Macho would look like.My ideal for the truck was a lot less "what if" and more so "why not"... :P

It's really cool.
After all they were meant to be TOYS,
why not have some fun.
Looks great.

Dynotune just informed me that Phoenixgraphics
just started offering 79-80 style MACHO.
Stripe kits. Complete for under 300$
What a deal.

I spent nearly that on getting a local sign co
to reproduce a set for me. They spent
hours taking pics, measuring, and then going back
and redoing them.

And now you you can just pick up the phone and order
a set.
Should be a major boost for those trucks too.

Thanks guys...this truck was intended to be a practice template for another '77 Powerwagon I have. That truck was originally going to be painted Sassy Grass green with the '79 Macho scheme and then........I found the '78 Round Up truck and well.....you know how it goes.

One project quickly leads into 6 more...while looking for a decent replacement shortbed in the JY,I found one, with roll bars even. The only problem is that it is still attached to the rest of the truck which turns out to be an original Macho.
It's in pretty rough overall condition, complete with toadstools and moss growing on the dash from the busted out windshield but hey....thats all fixable right ?

Cool truck, Jeff that's great news on the 79 80 macho decals :P . I've been toying around with the idea of doing my orange ramcharger up like one.
