Hey gents, Waiting on my dyno guy to get a part for the dyno, I pulled out my tranny and transfer case. Question is... I have the original NV 4530 4 speed tranny and a NP 203 transfer case. The transfer case weighs damn near 300 pound. I've read some articles on it about converting it to part time. I don't recall ever having any issues with it, but should I maybe switch to a NP 205 or maybe a 231 or something lighter and not constantly in 4wd??? Or would that be bad carmma and ruin the originality of my build. Any thoughts?

I would put the part time kit into the transfer case and go from there. The transmission that you have is a cool one, but also limited to the arrangement that can be used for the transfer cases....
