made more progress....sorry for the lack of pics....but it starts from the ignition switch and runs. I moved it forward and back a few times.....
I did have to temporarily install a carter afb, as the TQ is needing a rebuild...
The wiring harness is in it now...I need to finish up and install the insterment panel and gauges back in....
one thing that I am a little bit stumped on is the dealer installed a/c....at least the wiring that is associated with it...PIA for sure until I can figure it out...but did I mention it runs...and runs good! :D :D :D

ok, back to those pictures that I was talking about...
I got the wiring harness installed..2 mods that I still need to do, but the 79 harness is in, and the 80 harness is out, for the exception of the rear lighting harness(where the mods need to be done).
it runs nice....pump the gas 2 times when it is cool, and it lites up and runs great!

File comment: eddie afb from off of my shelf....just until I get the TQ rebuilt...the Eddie runs GREAT, but won't pass emissions here..

dash pictures....
It looks like when the truck got painted in 1983, they also painted the dash benzel black too.....upon further inspection it looks to have been an original radio delete truck....
since there is no buildsheet as of yet, I am going to add a few factory options to it...like clock...
Also...the dealer installed a/c vents look almost like the factory ones, and in a very similar if not the same location....a factory a/c metal dash is probably going to replace the hacked one....
there is something to be said about all of the dash lights working and being nice crisp and bright...
mental note....the tilt steering bulb is a PIA to find....Kragen/Autozone bulb #53 is the one for it...make sure to save the blue light condom for the new bulb(diffuser), as ma-mopar don't sell them anymore
Installed my am/fm/cassette/cb made by clarion...essentially it was the same unit, but the old unit was 8-track, and was broken and missing the mic controls....

File comment: nice nos clean gauges, clock and center dash benzel. The clock benzel is a used piece that I had stored for many moons...did not think it was that nice until I cleaned it up....

Also, before I get too far, I need to go on the hunt for a stock 1980(one year only) air cleaner. because of all of the scrap prices being high, the stock is very low, and the 1980 air cleaner is going to be tough to find. I have one, but the hole for the OSAC valve is not in it....I will use the 79 style for the time being....

plan is to get it restored semi soon, but we all know how life can be, so it will be going back in once it is dry again....
BTW....darn nice dry rust free floors.....nicest I have seen in a long time!!!

for those who don't know what the truck should look like, it is just like the picture from the broshure, with the exception of quad lights and the three point mirrors.....

Also forgot to mention.....once the dash was installed, I checked the gauges, it has 70 lbs of oil pressure....ran it for about 5-10 min....got to operating temp...

I have been asking myself.....how far do I go with the restoration...I want to drive it every so often...
I came to the conclusion that it will get a cosmetic restoration on the inside and outside of the truck. The bed will come off, and maybe remove the engine, but the cab will stay on the frame. The previous owned said the eng and trans were rebuilt...and it looks correct..so, it might be done by this time next year....knock on wood... ;)
