I found this on the way back from our visit to the state museum in Columbia, SC. I wasn't about to jump the fence for a closer look. What year is it?

thats an 89 or 90 judging from the grille and wheels. it looks clean, well worth that price if it runs good.

I went back to drive it today, an hour and a half drive from here. It has a 360 and auto. Interior was red fabric and pretty clean. The left side of the engine was making a knocking sound and it was definitely skipping. It could have just been a sticking valve but could have been something more serious. He obviously knew something was wrong as it had a new set of plugs and wires. The old ones were in the back. It was a quart low so I told him another quart might be all it needs to get the valve freed and if he got the skipping sorted to call me and I'd look at it again.

it may be more than that....I think if it has the overdrive transmission, then it is a 90, if it is a 3 speed, then it is a 89.

I may be mistaken but I'm fairly certain the 89 had overdrives too or at least available.

My 89 Ram has overdrive but the Ramcharger may have been different. I called him back to ask if he'd done anything about the skip. He wasn't there so I left a message that I was still interested and if he isn't going to address the skip, perhaps we could negotiate a different price. Haven't heard back.

A skip, probably a burnt valve, then low compression, see that a lot on the 80s dodge engines...
