I found this on the way back from our visit to the state museum in Columbia, SC. I wasn't about to jump the fence for a closer look. What year is it? thats an 89 or 90 judging from the grille and wheels. it looks clean, well worth that price if it runs good. |

I went back to drive it today, an hour and a half drive from here. It has a 360 and auto. Interior was red fabric and pretty clean. The left side of the engine was making a knocking sound and it was definitely skipping. It could have just been a sticking valve but could have been something more serious. He obviously knew something was wrong as it had a new set of plugs and wires. The old ones were in the back. It was a quart low so I told him another quart might be all it needs to get the valve freed and if he got the skipping sorted to call me and I'd look at it again. |

it may be more than that....I think if it has the overdrive transmission, then it is a 90, if it is a 3 speed, then it is a 89. |

I may be mistaken but I'm fairly certain the 89 had overdrives too or at least available. |

My 89 Ram has overdrive but the Ramcharger may have been different. I called him back to ask if he'd done anything about the skip. He wasn't there so I left a message that I was still interested and if he isn't going to address the skip, perhaps we could negotiate a different price. Haven't heard back. |

A skip, probably a burnt valve, then low compression, see that a lot on the 80s dodge engines... -ji |
