Hi all. New to this board. Does anyone know if the Tuff Wheel adaptor for a car is different than one for a truck? I have one out of a car and it has a flat spot/key way, but my trucks steering column doesn't have the flat spot/key way.

You can change the shaft only in your steering column to one from a late 80's 4x4 and the adapter will fit.. Seems in the 80's they all used the same spline as the 2 wheel drive trucks did.. I used a shaft from a 89 4x4 in my column but changed it back and used an aftermarket steering wheel instead because I wanted to use the Tuff wheel on my Macho build.

Thanks for the info. I'm probably gonna use a grant wheel in the truck and put the Tuff wheel in the kids 67 cuda.

OK I got a Grant #4316 install kit supposed to be for 77-87 W150 but it won't slide onto my splines. Tried it on my Duster column and slid right on. Anyone know what kit I need? My truck is a 77 w150 supposed to be a Warlock, but don't know how to prove that. The bed has been changed to a stepside with metal floor. Only stickers are on the dash. Thanks

Ok, they must have changed the splines on the 4x4 in 88 or 89 then. The shaft I used was from a 89 and it was splined the same as the 2 wheel drives..

Warlock had Utiline Bed with wood. Metal floored Step Side (utiline) beds were made after 1981 to 1985 (last year). Check your VIN for the Utiline bed option.
Here's where you can put the VIN (serial number) into a web site and get the break down:

Thanks for the vin decoder. Its a 77 W100 conventional cab utiline 360 2v. I knew the bed had been changed soon as I looked at it. I thought the metal beds were from the 80's. No other data plates on truck except door. PO supposed to send me all documentation from original owner as they are friends. Thanks for the help.
