I sold my '79 Warlock 4x4 to Travis Laboy (of the San Diego Chargers) May of 2011. The Warlock just got delivered back to him from the L.A. Hot Rod Shop. Came out nice!!!!!!!!!!

yes, it did come out nice...but they could have just as easily did a normal utiline truck. I figured they would at least take it back to being a warlock...
Travis said they truck was trash to start with...I didn't think so..

Yes I agree........... Travis was talking "trash" to bolster the ego of the builder I think...
Wait 'till October of 2013 for the biannual California Smog inspection that will be due on that truck. I think the builder was under the assumption that the 30 year rule was in effect for this truck ( It's still illegal to take it the emission off no matter what year). Not knowing there was a cut off at 1976 and above.
Travis's permanent home is in Arizona. He may have to register there to be able to drive it in San Diego, California. I still think there is a Smog Inspection program in that State too. Maybe not so strict year wise.

Interesting trend for Higher $$ restos

and demand for these "very old" trucks.

How did they get it smogged in Calif?

Aftermkt wheels

could have been cooler with new Vectors

or new kidney beans.

I'd drive it! :D

"How did they get it smogged in Calif?"

As I said, It's due for smog Inspection Oct 2013.
When I smogged it in Oct 2010 it was bone stock. It went through
with no problems. Photo below was the engine when I sold it to him
in May of 2011 with a fresh resale Smog Certificate good for 90 days.
The Lic plate has October for renew.

OK

First, it's cool that this guy wants to drive a POWER WAGON

rather than a lexus. I understand that he works hard for his $$

and doesn't have time to learn much about these trucks.

I also appreciate the builder's Savvy in making this commercial

that has had nearly 20K views. Smart marketing.

BUT......

What do you figure they charged him for that?

$35K

And, does anybody here not think that the Money could have been better spent?

Spent making it a Warlock worthy of all that the video suggests.

I've watched it a couple of times. Each time I see or hear

something else that just makes me shake my head.

I don't think they know the difference between a D 150 and a W 150

and watch what happens at 3 min 50sec

on purpose, or wired wrong?

they hooked up the wires wrong...and that is funny as hell..
definitive lack of knowledge of the electrical on the build...or outright intentionaly wired that way...

cargo light..

I agree with Last440.......... On the dash I think when they smoothed it out and the cargo light switch was eliminated. I gave LaBoy a complete factory ac dash because the original to the truck had aftermarket ac vents cut into it. I search forever for replacement vents, but no go. So I decided to (when I was going to restore the truck) replace the dash with factory ac vents type. But it did not have the cargo light option cut out.............I think it was a good call to hook the cargo light up to the courtesy interior lights.

why not just eliminate the holes for it all together...not like it will carry cargo...
