So the Macho passed it's annual emissions test on the first try this Saturday. I'll be converting the plates to 5-year collector's plates so it won't need an emissions test for 5 years. I'm still keeping the "81MACHO", but have to apply to have it transferred to the new plates.
The two U-Pull-&-Pay yards in Denver were doing 50% off on Monday so the girlfriend and I went (primarily to find parts for her Jeep XJ). I knew they had an '80 Dodge Van in their inventory but wasn't holding my breath. Low and behold it had a set of cashmere low back buckets, albeit the wrong vinyl insert/stitching, but a step in the right direction.
Emblem off the passenger side door (and the only emblem on the van)
I just had to mount at least one this evening after work (I have two truck pedestals) and just sitting in the bucket transforms the interior of the truck! It does have all 12 holes as expected. The inner holes on the drivers side have nuts welded to the underside, so it all bolted together as expected.
The passenger side is where I'm boggled, I thought all it'd need is a driver side RC/club cab pedestal as well but it looks like (at least) one of the two inner holes is threaded just like the driver side inner holes. But the pedestals have studs on the left side. Plus the spacing of the holes would imply that it needs a pedestal with the opposite stud/hole pattern...
I don't have a cashmere console yet...have a line on one but we'll see. I do have a spice one from a '92 Canyon Sport that I can use for now (and it kinda matches the carpet and seats alright). I'll also need to find the proper buckles as they were swapped out whenever the bench was installed.
