Just trying to fill in some blanks and this may not be possible to know...
How did a truck come to be ?
Imagine...we are working at the assembly plant...these trucks are already planned out from the beginning.. all we have to do is grab the build sheet and hope the parts are in the bin.At the end of our line the truck is drove off, inspected and shipped out to dealerships.
Now...If all trucks were planned out on paper before we even began the build..was it all done totally at random ? Some trucks that are almost totally specific (interior-wise) like the Palomino should be all ran down the line at approx. the same time to ease confusion. How about all the rest ? Has there been enough info collected from build dates to determine how this was done?
That's an interesting question. It would be great if someone knew a person who worked on the assembly line in the 70's who could answer these ?'s.I would have loved to have seen the rolls of pinstriping and decal kits they must have had for the Macho's.Let alone the premade roll bars and brush/push guards they must have had.If D.Dan's theory is right it would have been sweet seeing the Macho's roll off the lines back to back.
